I can really relate to this post – I’ve been out of D&D for years, mostly due to work taking over my life. In order to get a bit of D&D back in my life, I actually started a solo-play podcast. It did the trick and really has my imagination firing once again. There are characters that I’ve bonded with and actually root for. LoL, I did, I found a game that is two and a half hour away. As well as a writers group two hour away.

2.5 hours out, then 2.5 back after a 1.5 hour game. Not so interested in spending 5 hours on a bus.

Not having a car up here is do-able but inconvenient.

I’ll just have to get a car as soon as I can, or found a closer game.

Do you know any One up here?

In fairness, I did move, but you’d think I’d be able to find a game less then 2 and a half hours away. (Sadly not)
